After the stockings, the presents, the delicious Turkey dinner and the Queen's speech came lots of films and catching up and crochet of course! Today it was the turn of the donkey and the first shepherd:
donkey with Joseph and baby Jesus, Mary is asleep recovering from the birth....
I gave the donkey a bigger body, bigger head, a neck, longer ears and 4 thinner longer legs....
Not to mention a ''proper'' donkey style tail?Part chain and slip stitch crochet and part fringe.
He has posabel legs and can sit, lie down with folded legs or stand up. I think he looks capable of having carried a pregnant Mary to Bethlehem? When I can buy dark brown pipecleaner the shepherd will get his shepherd's crook...The lamb and shepherd number two are coming soon....
Then after that the three wise men with their precious gifts of gold, frankincence and myrrh.
And finally hopefully an ox and a camel.....watch this space....
And I hope your Christmas Day was as funny, joyful, happy and lovely as our was.
Blessed that's what we were and we give THANKS for these blessings.
Hello and welcome to my homely world in a small Oxfordshire town in 2013.I am a full- time working mum.
Very proud of 2 gorgeous girls , a fabulous if very stubborn wire haired standard dachshund bitch and her daughter : the daughter takes after her dad so they are very different; a wonderful( well 99% of the time anyway) and long suffering husband.
This is to be my diary of events for a creative crafting sort of person with all the happenings that occur in this day and age in English family life.I am very much learning as I go along, my eldest is my first at all the things that occur in a young person's life as it's all very different from when I was a little girl and I did not grow up in England.
Totally obsessed with textiles and the making of things- anything!
My passion is to make things with yarn or fabric or thread : any textile crafts or beads too.
