Our SNOWDON adventure on 19 September

Parking in a layby next to a lovely lake as the pig path car park was already full at 9 am.

Walking on the road back up to the other car park to start the walk ''proper''.
10:04 the start of the walk on the pig-track.
JJ leading the way all the way.
Looking back at the pig track car park.
Having started to walk in light drizzle this is a hopeful glimpse of a patch of blue sky!

First look at the lake with the smiley faces! Lake weeds.
This was at 10:29 am. the first big lake.
 What is JJ looking at?

Aha a hairy caterpillar! a bit late in the season?
more to follow about this day at a later date...

Maldives holiday start thereof

Lounge at Gatwick with lovely buffet of food, free drinks and tea/ coffee and cake and lovely comfort. What a way to start this lovely holiday! Bliss.

A wrinkle in time, one of the movies watched on ICE on the Gatwick to Dubai EMIRATES flight.
( 6 hours and 50 minutes) It was a comfortable flight, I watched 3.5 movies which helped pass the time. The Female Brain, A Wrinkle in Time, Goodbye Christopher Robin and half of Victoria and Albert.
A lighthouse on the boot, magic.
Lovely costume, a suit of the sea and a beach ...
view from plane. One of the first Atolls seen.
Still the flight from Dubai to Male. ( 3 hours 41 minutes)

Team building day - punting and some SUP-ping!

Though I haven't been blogging it I had some pics on Facebook but am temporarily locked out so am posting here today.
On 4th and 5th August I had a 20 minute session on a paddle board at Country File Live at Blenheim Palace and fell in love with the sport! if you can call it that.  I wanted to buy a board straight away and did almost that, within a week or two anyway. Also took a SUP lesson to get my ''ready to ride'' certificate and then off I 've been going all about, Cherwell, Thame river, Grand Union canal, Thames, etc.
So when the work summer outing was punting I offered my board for some try-outs for anyone interested. Only two were at first but there may be even more after the event.
It was quite a cold morning hence the fleece as I had only been sup-ping in t shirt and shorts until then. Lovely sunny day though.
As you can see after the try-outs and a nice drink at the Victoria Arms we head back for lunch at the Cherwell boathouse: very very slow service but delicious food! Two punts and a SUP.
