a LITTLE BIT OF CROCHET does you GOOD

As mentioned previously, we've had a little added stress in our lives lately and I found a little bit of crochet was wondrously relaxing...And of course I taught an aran crochet evening class the other day and LOVED IT!!!! Such a buzz, I wish I could do lots and lots more of it. The excitement of the ladies as they realised they could do textures like basketweave, ribbing , bobbles and cables as infectious and really rewarding.

Then on Mother's Day I had a little playtime with a pattern I had found difficult and perplexing a few years ago so I thought I'd give it another try: a floral trellis fabric from my old Harmony Guide.
In a Dropps design sockwool and a 3mm hook.....Tricky at first but I think I got there in the end?

Mothers' Day 2011

Isn't it just GORGE-OOO-OUS? This was on my breakfast-in-bed-tray on Sunday morning. Miss Y had made it herself at Guides- how fantabby-doscious.
OMG OMG I could not believe it! My most desirous wished for /longed for bag for my birthday actually arrived for M-Day instead- YIPPEEEE!!!
AND AND - why there was even MORE!Wow if ever there was a mum who didn't quite feel she deserved this much... I do cook, shop and wash but oooooh the housework - well ooopsie.

Maybe it was a hinty that I should do a bit more? Oh no, it was just my lovely lovely girls :

WHAT a SUPERB mug!!!

And cards too, both bought and home-made: oh I felt ON TOP of the WORLD.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU EVER SO EVER SO MUCH MY LOVELY DEAREST DARLING GIRLS AND GIRLIE DOGGIES TOO.....

Very Windy Day by the SEA: a BEACH

Happy Birthday J!!! A very cold and windy day out at West Wittering beach. It had been sunny just 2 days earlier, but this day here in Sussex was grey and wery wery WINDY! ( hence the chill: bbrrrrrrrrrrbbbrrrrrrrrr)
Contemplative Pips: off lead and all that sand and sea: whatever next?
Are youm coming or not, PIPPA?

Hey. folks are you coming? This is TERRIFIC! Lucy is in her element.
Windswept Pippa- ears and eyebrows swept aside.

Bye bye pretty sand patterned ribbled beach.
What was that exactly? Is that a blessing?
Local Cathedral : guess which one?
Pretty big clue this one.

CROCHET cardigan in TOPSHOP window display.
Crochet in New Look window.....And no I did NOT buy anything, nada, nyet, nothing.
Pretty blossom and wow doesn't that building look DUTCH?!!!

Walks in March- such warm sunny days!

It's a shame there's no associated sounds as the birdsong just lately has been WONDERFUL.
28th March was a very warm day : into the twenties so the dogs went for a cooling -off paddle.

Pip even wandered downstream following a floating twig and ''fishing''.
Serenely beautiful.
Ripples and reflections.

New green leaves: HOPE and NEW BEGINNINGS.

The trees too were ''greening'' up.

Had a nasty and malevolent shock in Mid March while I was away- stalked via e-mail -and these quiet- but birdsong musical- and serene walks were a balm to my soul.
