May Day celebrations and Blossom and Blue skies.

A half hour Cuttlebrook walk at the end of April... such sunshine, though it was chilly and those BLUE BLUE skies: I loved it all.

 Bluebells!

 And forget-me knots.
 New leaves sprouting out...
And that amazing new green, the yellow-green of young new leaves?

Some dramatic vertical lines, not sure what this was, but it contrasted so well with the new growth.

The beck flowing gently, reflecting the sky.

THIS is my absolutely FAVOURITE hue of BLUE!
 THIS one...
Not this one, this one is a bit too pale?
I just love looking up to the sky and seeing the tangle of branches and the blossom.
The white creamy blossom makes the sky even more blue?

 More new leaves, different ones.

And another magic moment: the sun shining THROUGH the green of new leaves.
MAGIC.

Yes, in the moment thanks to meditation, and grinning away. accidental photo.
 Masses of white blossom
 And some periwinkle.
The abundance of pink blossom too!

And a darker , deeper shade of  pink blossom

There are some tiny bee orchids here I think?
Oh my, not such a good moment, with me taking photos, Pippa launched herself into a very muddy swampy bit and Lucy joined in enthusiastically- very muddy dogs!
Pippa in fact sank down and lay in the mud, ensuring her entire tummy was mud-covered also.

And very reluctantly emerged having tried to drink the swamp dry.
More new leaves, fabulously pointy and drooping through lack or turgor.
And TODAY is the FIRST OF MAY and I have been dancing at Radcliffe Square in Oxford at 6 am this morning! It was chilly but dry and sunny and we danced ourselves hot and shed layers of clothing gradually. We danced 11 dances from 6 am to 7 am to live piped music and it was tremendous fun. No photos at all , sorry, too busy dancing!
We danced:
Joie de Vivre
De'il amang the Tailors
Monymusk
Reel of the 51st Division
Duke of Atholl's Reel
Earl of Mansfield
Macdonald of the Isles
The Bees of Maggieknockater
Radcliffe Square
Mairi's Wedding- with extra twirls...
and finished with The Reel of the Royal Scots.

Awoke at 4:30 am and left home at 5 am surpised at how light it was! The sun rose majestically as seen in my rear mirror and the sky to my right coloured bright red, then pink and purple as hradually more of the sun appeared.  A red ball of a sun.
By 5:30 I'd got into Summertown in Oxford where I parked and then walked for 20-25 minutes to Radcliffe Square. It was such fun and  a great way to start the merry month of May.
And Spring of course, hence the blossoms and blue skies in this post.
Wishing you all a very Spirited Spring and a marvellously merry month of May.

Watch this and meditate.....
